Indonesia’s largest Cultural Fair, Trade & Tourism Exhibition and Food Bazaar

The highlight for many attendees of Festival Indonesia is the Cultural Fair, Trade Exhibition and the Food Bazaar.


Cultural Fair
Never will you see such a diverse range of the finest cultural performances to represent Indonesia and share the stage over two whole days.

Artists in previous festivals included lead dance groups from Bali, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumatra, as well as local professional performing groups. From vocal performances to drama to dance to martial arts. From contemporary to the more traditional, each performing arts group contributing to the colourful and spectacular concert that is Festival Indonesia’s Cultural Fair.

Offstage, be further entertained by street performances, games for the kids and talent workshop including how to make batik and how to play traditional musical instruments. Onstage, be blown away by a professionally choreographed theatrical performances.


Trade & Tourism Exhibition
Federation Square will be home to Festival Indonesia’s Trade Exhibition.

The Trade & Tourism Exhibition will give both the general public and business community the chance to gain more knowledge about Indonesian products and services set at competitive negotiable prices. At the same time, the exhibition will offer Australian businesses the opportunity to develop direct relationships and interaction with associated Indonesian manufacturers and suppliers.

In this unique one-to-one direct networking environment, companies and organisations from regional areas of Indonesia showcase their latest products and services first hand to interested, relevant and influential international and domestic business people and to the general public.

To date, over 20 stalls are confirmed to occupy Federation Square and will all showcase Indonesian manufacturers and suppliers; from batik and fashion, handicraft and jewellery, to furniture and textiles.

The Expo will also be host to a vast range of tourism stalls which will display exclusive information about Indonesia’s thriving and untouched tourism destinations.


Food Bazaar
Indonesian culture would not be complete without food. Tantalise your senses further, and visit the many food stalls to sample the traditional cuisine and sweets that Indonesia is so well known for. Dishes are reasonably priced and cooked authentically to ensure that you get the real taste of Indonesia!

The Food Bazaar brings to you the true flavour of Indonesia’s culinary delights. Five food stalls hosted by Melbourne’s well reputable Indonesian restaurants will cook up a storm of wide ranging dishes and sweets from across the archipelago. Dishes will range from the famous satay, gado-gado, rendang and nasi goreng to the tasty empek-empek, gudeg, siomay, bakso and ayam panggang to the tantalising sweets of martabak, kelepon, kue lapis and many more.
